What’s pink, juicy, and best enjoyed with a splash of bubbles? Watermelon! We have the perfect spritz recipe to keep you cool the last few weeks of summer that combines the subtle sweetness of this vibrant-pink fruit with the crispness of Frank Family’s Blanc de Blancs.
Ingredients
2 oz | Fresh watermelon juice |
¾ oz | St-Germain elderflower liqueur |
1 oz | Fresh lemon juice |
4 oz | Frank Family Blanc de Blancs |
For garnish | Watermelon triangle (optional) |
Method
- Cut off the rind from one watermelon and slice into cubes.
- Add cubed watermelon to a blender and blitz it until smooth* (you may need to add a splash of water).
- Use a fine mesh strainer and pour the watermelon mixture through, using a spoon or spatula to press any excess juice.
- In a shaker, add ice, watermelon juice, St-Germain, and fresh-squeezed lemon juice and shake vigorously.
- Strain shaker into sparkling wine glass and top with sparkling wine.
- Garnish with watermelon triangle on the rim of the glass and enjoy!
*NOTE: For added refreshment, make this a frozen cocktail by placing the watermelon cubes in the freezer several hours before adding to the blender.
